The City of Coshocton has officially installed new signage along its designated bike route, marking a major step forward in the city’ s efforts to become more bike-friendly, connected and supportive of healthy outdoor activity. The mission of this effort is to create a healthier, more connected and sustainable community by developing a network of safe and accessible bikeways that encourage outdoor recreation, alternative transportation and environmental stewardship. It’ s fueled by the mission to develop and maintain an interconnected system of multi-use trails and bike-friendly infrastructure throughout Coshocton County, linking cities, villages and neighboring regions.
The newly marked bike route begins at Wandle Drive and continues through Arrowhead Drive, 14th Street, Denman Avenue, Nicholear, 16th Street, Orange Street, Hickory and Walnut / Main Street, ending at Water Street. This path links local neighborhoods with the McWane Ductile Bike Path and provides convenient access to the courthouse and downtown Coshocton.
“ This route is the first of many steps we hope to take in expanding Coshocton’ s cycling infrastructure,” said Michelle Turner, council member at large.“ By clearly marking these paths, we’ re supporting health, mobility and connectivity for all members of our community.”
This is a shared-road route— there are no dedicated bike lanes at this time. The signage is intended to increase driver awareness and cyclist visibility, helping all road

users travel more safely. Cyclists are reminded to follow all applicable traffic laws and ride responsibly while sharing the road with vehicles.
This initiative was spearheaded by the newly formed Three Rivers Bike Committee, founded by Frank Cugliari and Matt Gauerke, who invited Turner to join the effort. The committee is collaborating with residents and regional partners including the Rails to Trails Conservancy and the Ohio-Erie Trail Coalition to lay the groundwork for long-term biking and multi-use trail development in Coshocton County and beyond.
Residents are encouraged to explore the new route and follow ongoing developments via the Bike Coshocton Facebook page, a growing community space for bike-friendly news, feedback and events.
