Davis is Coshocton Art Guild Artist of the Month
The Coshocton Art Guild celebrates the new year with Artist of the Month Missy Davis . A resident of Coshocton for over one year , Davis is making a splash in the local arts community .
The author of the children ’ s book , “ Denny the Duck and Denny Learns Life ’ s Lessons ,” also creates watercolor paintings of landscapes , animals and commissioned portraits of beloved pets . A speech pathologist in a nursing and rehab center , Davis shows and sells her artwork at The Tollhouse Gallery and also is involved in the Footlight Players Community

The painter started her artistic journey early in life .
“ I have been fascinated with photography since in my late teens , and I continue to have a love for it ,” Davis said . “ I enjoy capturing something beautiful that someone else may not have seen and to share the beauty I see when looking at the same subject . I decided to try watercolor paints a year ago and painted a pitiful flower . I made a decision to try dogs and have since been selling painted portraits of others ’ pets . Pretty much anything someone has a photo of , I can paint it . I am always up to a challenge and think I have been successful thus far .”
