River View advances 11 of its swimmers to the district meet
Miller will compete in swimming for RHS
The River View swim teams competed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association South East District Sectional Tournament at Steubenville High School on Feb . 8 . The Black Bears advanced 11 swimmers to the state-qualifying district meets in Athens . The girls placed second overall out of 20 schools , and the boys were seventh out of 17 teams .
Medalists for the Bears in girls events include the relay of Ally Fischer , Lily Grewell , Riley Gottardi and Britany Hammond , who were third in both the 200 medley ( 2:10.18 ) and in the 400 freestyle ( 4:10 ), and Gottardi , who won the 100 backstroke ( 1:05.84 ) and was second in the 100 butterfly ( 1:05.38 ). For the boys , Jamison Adams was third in the 100 back ( 1:01.69 ).
The girls also earned points in the 200 free relay , where the group of Grewell , Kynsingten McMasters , Atyana Milici and Hammond were eighth ( 1:59.96 ); the 200 individual medley , where Fischer was fourth ( 2:36.58 ) and McMasters was fifth ( 2:41.73 ); the 100 breaststroke , where Grewell was sixth ( 1:19.55 ), McMasters was seventh ( 1:21.28 ) and Chloee Adams was 13th ( 1:31.59 ); the 100 free , where Hammond was fifth ( 1:06.17 ) and Atyana Milici was 10th ( 1:08.88 ); the 100 back , where Fischer was eighth ( 1:12.35 ); the 500 free , where Ava Lewis was ninth ( 6:59.36 ) and
Natylee Milici was 11th ( 7:17.58 ); the 200 free , where Natylee Milici was 16th ( 2:37.57 ); and in the 50 free , where Atyana Milici was 10th ( 30.09 ).
In boys scoring , the relay of Jamison Adams , Dustin Gregory , JT Allison and Kyle Roach was fifth ( 4:00.32 ) in the 400 free and sixth ( 2:00.84 ) in the 200 medley . Allison was fourth ( 5:58.56 ) in the 500 free , Adams was seventh ( 56.55 ) in the 100 free , Gregory was eighth ( 1:08.28 ) in the 100 fly and 12th ( 1:20.95 ) in the 100 breast , and Roach was 11th in both the 50 free ( 25.97 ) and the 100 free ( 58.54 ).
In additional results Ava Lewis was 17th ( 2:39.03 ) in the 200 free , JT Allison was 17th ( 1:01.43 ) in the 100 free and Chloee Adams was 18th ( 31.08 ) in the 50 free .
Coshocton swimmers qualify
Senior Cohen Miller is the first Ridgewood High School swimmer to ever advance from the sectional to district swim meet , where he will compete in two events .
On Feb . 8 Miller swam at the sectional meet at Steubenville . He broke the school record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.79 . Miller also qualified in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:07.68 . The district meet will be held Friday , Feb . 14 at Ohio University Athens .
On Jan . 13 the Coshocton County Junior Leadership 4-H Club held its first meeting of the year .

Coshocton High School swimmers competed at the sectional meet in Steubenville . District qualifiers coming out of that meet were Emme Jackson , Sophia McFadden , Courtney Snyder and Gabriella Wesney . Each of these girls qualified in three relays and one individual event . They will compete Friday , Feb . 14 at Ohio University .
