When the 2024 high school football season starts , Coshocton will showcase its new scoreboard at Stewart Field .
“ The previous scoreboard had been there for years ,” said Justin Smith , athletic director at Coshocton High School . “ A lot of the parts were not working . We kept having to order new light bulbs , and we wanted to be able to get with the times and have a product where we would be able to use it for multiple events .”
Ground was broken for the new scoreboard in early April . The goal was to have it complete for graduation in May , but Smith said parts from California took longer than expected . It ended up being installed and up and running the

first week of June . “ Improved is an understatement ,” Smith said . “ We can highlight our athletes throughout the game with previously installed pictures . If someone scores
a touchdown or kicks a goal , then we could put their picture on the board . We will also have advertisements from businesses that can run throughout the game and commercials during timeouts and
between quarters .”
Money for the scoreboard was raised through companies having permanent logos around it . Smith said there were 13 companies that helped fund

Smith also announced the school will host Veterans and First Responders Night at the varsity football game on Friday , Sept . 6 at 7 p . m . against Highland Local Schools .

Those participating are asked to meet by the end zone near the scoreboard within three minutes left in the second quarter .
