Home Loan Financial Corporation , the parent company of The Home Loan Savings Bank , announced net income of $ 1,533,000 or $ 1.09 basic and diluted earnings per share for the quarter ended June 30 , compared to net income of $ 1,458,000 , or $ 1.04 basic and diluted earnings per share for the quarter ended June
30 , 2023 , an increase of $ 74,000 or 5.1 %.
Net income for the year ended June 30 was $ 5,478,000 or $ 3.90 basic and diluted earnings per share , compared to $ 5,171,000 for the year ended June 30 , 2023 , or $ 3.69 basic and diluted earnings per share , an increase of $ 307,000 or 5.9 %.
This increase in earnings for the year compared with June 30 , 2023 , was primarily attributable to an increase in net interest income of $ 1,437,000 and partially offset by an increase in the provision for loan losses of $ 187,000 , a decrease in noninterest income of $ 12,000 , an increase in noninterest expense of
$ 731,000 and an increase in federal income tax expense of $ 197,000 .
Total assets on June 30 were $ 330.6 million , compared to June 30 , 2023 assets of $ 291.2 million , an increase of $ 39.4 million or 13.5 %. Total deposits on June 30 were $ 244.9 million ,

With labor and materials provided by the Ohio National Guard and the blessing of the school board , the city rec board will begin renovations to the Himebaugh Lot . The plans for the lot include a number of facilities including a basketball court , running tract and baseball diamond . Projects will be taken up as funding becomes available , but work is set to begin on Aug . 17 .

Edna ’ s Beauty Shop has now moved to the First Federal building on Main Street . The purpose of the move was to provide greater convenience to customers both for location and space . Owner Edna Mc- Connell will be employing Ruth Ann Tyson , Molly McNichols , Lennie Patterson , Jackye Little , Kathy Collins and Teri Croft .

In a vote last night , the Coshocton Recreation Board has approved the creation of a Babe Ruth League Team , as proposed by Pony League coach Deric Potts . “ One team had 27 players ,” said Board President Tad Johnson in regard to Pony League overcrowding , one of the primary reasons for joining the new league . Serving boys 13-15 the team will be established in the ‘ 95 season , with two more teams planned to be added by ‘ 97 . CHS baseball coach Jeff Neiger expressed hopes the new league will help to improve incoming freshman players by the time they get to him .

Prince ’ s Wrecker Service has moved the very press that put Coshocton on the map into the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum . Moved from JII / Sales Promotion Associates , the press was used by Jasper Meek of Newcomerstown in 1886 to advertise his friend Homer Canwell ’ s shoe business . Making a simple backpack using gunny cloth that read “ Buy Cantwell Shoes ,” it would be the beginning of the specialty-advertising industry in Coshocton . “ We ’ re just thrilled to have this press . It ’ s a beautiful press with its brass knobs and engravings ,” said museum director Patti Malenke .

The West Lafayette Homecoming crowned its Queens on July 24 . “ West Lafayette may be small , but we are kind and people here have a loving mindset ,” said Queen Olivia Brady . She is the daughter of Todd and Shelly Brady . Isabelle Flores and Josey Lillibridge will serve as attendants . Gracee Robertson , daughter of Mary and Doug Robertson , was crowned junior queen , with Laney Hostetler and Adrianna Flores serving as attendants . Zoe Ruby , daughter of TJ and Kimberly Ruby , was crowned mini queen , with Andrea Webb and Zaylie Sines serving as attendants . Collier Surgenor , son of Tessa Swigert and Shaun Surgenor , and Paisyn Howell , daughter of Lindsay and Kris Howell , served as little mister and little miss .
