The Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce held its summer quarterly luncheon on July 25 at Schumaker Farms .

After having barbecued chicken , corn on the cob and other picnic favorites , two community improvement awards were presented .

The first community improvement award went to the Hasseman family for their renovations of the former Roscoe Motor Inn . Since purchasing the inn , they have updated 13 of the 18 rooms , created a community room , changed landscaping and more .

Kirby and Amy Hasseman renamed the inn as The Roscoe . It and other places to stay in Coshocton can be found online at www . choosecoshocton . com .

“ Thank you for this and for everyone ’ s support of the community ,” Amy Hasseman said .

When the awards were over , the microphone was passed along for attendees to share updates about their businesses or organizations .

Amy Crown , chamber director , reminded everyone the annual chamber dinner will be held Friday , Sept . 13 . Tickets will go on sale soon and typically sell out fast .

Coshocton County commissioner Dane Shryock announced construction of the new justice center is ahead of schedule and under budget . It is expected to be completed by Wednesday , Sept . 18 .

Coshocton City Mayor Mark Mills said the city and county have received several million dollars in grant money . These funds will help with many projects including sewer and

water updates , work at the cemeteries , and a fire training center .

Announcements also were made about upcoming events like the Coshocton Dog Fest on Saturday , Aug . 17 and the Power-House Cruise on Main on Saturday , Aug . 24 .

“ There are a lot of things happening in Coshocton County and events still to come this summer ,” Crown said .
