Students advance in writing contest
Coshocton Junior High students Kaelyn McClister and Jordynn Frye will compete in the state Power of the Pen competition at Ashland University May 18-19 .
For Power of the Pen , the competitors are given a writing prompt and have 40 minutes to write
a story or essay . After 40 minutes they move on to the next round , receive a different prompt and write another story . There is a third round that begins 10 minutes after the second round ends . Each round is judged by a different trained judge .
