Throughout your years at IMEM, you’ve made
incredible things. Short films, marketing plans,
creative concepts and many more. In this edition
of The Contributor, we would like to show you a
documentary made by former fourth year
students for the course PR7, where they had to make
a 10-15-minute video.
Ymke Teijma and Nienke Kok, producer and director
of the documentary ‘Tika Stardust’, are two IMEM
alumni who worked on this project together with
Sophie Ketels and Patrick Nab. The documentary is
about Tika, a sex worker who works with disabled
people. Ymke and Nienke would like to tell you more
about their work;

Why this topic?
Nienke:
‘Being a sex worker is
quite a sensitive topic. With this
documentary we wanted to show
people that Tika is not a ‘hooker’
but really executes her job with
passion and love. We also found it
important to stress that having sex
is not a normality for disabled people
and that it is important that there are
people like Tika to satisfy their needs.’
