HOW DID YOU FIND OUT WHAT
CAREER WOULD SUIT YOU?
“I looked around to see what I might
like and explored from there. I did not
immediately jump at the first opportu-
nity I received. It took me a while before
I knew what I enjoyed, what fitted me,
and what felt good to me. Having a
good feeling about a company is key,
and if the feeling is there, you must take
a leap.”
HOW DID YOUR CAREER PATH
CONTINUE?
“After working my way up in
recruitment for technical specialists
commerce for about 7 years, I was
ready for something new. I used to do a
lot of recruitment of people working
internationally which sparked my
interest. I decided to work for Cost
Engineering Consultancy. At first, I did
not know anything about the field they
were operating in, but I did not see this
as an obstacle.”
WHAT HELPED YOU FIND THE RIGHT
WORKING FIELD?
“What helped me is that I did a lot of
internships which were in the field I
thought I would like to work in. But they
ended up not being what I expected
them to be. Internships are there to let
you try different things.
They give you the freedom to explore
options and develop yourself.”
WHAT IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR CAREER?
“I am currently working to build up a new location of our business in Australia, to build up a
new network here, and to start from scratch. This really is a peak for me. It feels great to be
sent to the other side of the world, to just go and make it happen.”
