McLANE CHILDREN’S: NEWS Community Update McLane Children’s could not exist without the unfailing support of our community. McLane Children’s wins $10,000! A huge thank you goes out to our Central Texas community, who rallied behind McLane Children’s to help the hospital win 4th place in the 2018 Vote for Miracles contest. During the holiday season, supporters around the country voted for their favorite Children’s Miracle Network Hospital to receive a share of a $100,000 donation from Credit Unions for Kids. At McLane Children’s, the Vote for Miracles funds will be used toward our expansion project. Home Run for Health The rivalry between Belton and Midway baseball may be fierce, but they put rivalries aside when it comes to our children. The two teams came together to raise a total of $2,683 for Mclane Children’s! McLane Children’s Champion McKenzie Covert even got to throw the opening pitch at a Midway game. Thank you to both teams for your support! Optimist Club A big thank you goes out to the Optimist Club of Copperas Cove who raised $2,000 for McLane Children’s through their thrift store sales. “The people in our community know what we do for the children’s hospital and they are very generous,” says Sandy Vegh, who owns the thrift store. Thank you, Optimist Club! Dance Marathon Dedicated college students at several local universities made a commitment to stay on their feet for a marathon event to raise awareness and funds for McLane Children’s. Texas A&M University raised $190,241! Baylor University raised $15,290! University of Mary Hardin-Baylor raised $10,622! Save the Date! Thursday, June 27, 2019 McLane Company is hosting its first annual Charity Fishing Tournament on Belton Lake to benefit McLane Children’s, with prizes totaling $10,000! Balloon Campaigns Circle K Convenience Stores recently held their balloon campaign, raising $35,561!
