The Pulse of the COM COMmunity

The 2018 Graduation Awards Luncheon took place on Friday, May 18th in the Danielle Ripich Commons. Three-hundred people RSVP’d for the event, which featured faculty and-student selected awards, as well as scholarship recipients from the past four years of medical school.

The President of the UNE COM Alumni Association, Lisa Lucas, DO ‘09 started things off with the UNE COM Alumni Award. The award is given to the student who demonstrates school pride, and was appropriately given to Scott James Morin for his role as the Class Alumni Representative, his volunteer work for the

New England Parkinson’s Ride, Pancakes for Parkinson’s, Biddeford Soup Kitchen, and the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. He also was a part of the Elder Buddy Program, helped organize the Noah’s Walk, and was the Director of Community Outreach for the American Geriatrics Society. He was the 2017 recipient of the UNE COM Student DO of the Year.

Next, the Doctor of Patience Award was presented by Kyle Cornell, Class of 2018 Vice President. The award recognizes life partners for their time and dedication to their other half during the trials and tribulations
