Since humans are beings that strive to adapt to their environment, it is likely that a new form of human nature, both mentally and behaviorally, will emerge due to the influence of the current digital world.
Havin: What do you think about the effects of technology on healthcare?
96
Mr. Güler: One of the areas where technology has had perhaps the most positive impact is the healthcare system. Genetic analyses have made it possible to develop personalized treatments for diseases. Imaging technologies like X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans help diagnose diseases more quickly and accurately. Robotic surgery enables minimally invasive operations, which means smaller incisions and quicker recovery times. Moreover, the margin for error decreases and the risk of complications is reduced, which is critically important in treatment. Smartwatches and other devices that digitally record data such as heart rate, blood pressure, and sleep patterns are also significant technological developments.
In the development of new drugs, devices, and treatments, technology plays a crucial role.
In summary, we can say that the effects of technology on healthcare have generally been positive.
Havin: What do you think about robots replacing doctors?
needs to understand complex clinical situations, emotional communication, and ethical decisions, elements that depend heavily on the human factor, which seems unlikely at this stage.
Instead of replacing doctors, AI could transform their roles. AI can help doctors make more accurate diagnoses and provide more precise treatments, thus assisting them in their professional development. AI cannot understand a patient’ s fears or concerns as well as humans can. For example, many doctors can make a diagnosis just by observing a patient as they enter the clinic. This is something AI, at least for now, cannot do.
Mr. Güler: From where we stand today, it seems unlikely that AI will fully replace doctors. However, AI can assist doctors in many tasks or automate certain processes.
In conclusion, I believe the system will not be one where AI completely replaces doctors, but rather one where AI and humans continue to work in collaboration.
AI is already providing significant support to doctors in areas like medical imaging and genetic analysis.
Havin: Thank you very much for giving your time and sharing your thoughts with us.
However, for AI to work completely independently, it Mr. Güler: You’ re welcome. It was a pleasure for me.
