To pipe the name, find a font that
you like (I have used Apple Chancery
here) and print the names that you
need in this font. If you don’t have
a Kopykake projector to project the
image of the font on the cookie
you can cut the name out and pop
it directly above where you plan
to pipe. You can use this printout
to center the name and copy the
lettering. Pipe the name using a
detail consistency in white.
Finish off with an outline consistency
piped line (Wilton tip 1) at the top
and bottom of your band to neaten
the edge and then give the bauble a
handle with an outline consistency
(Wilton tip 3).
TOP TIPS FOR DECORATING YOUR CHRISTMAS COOKIES
- If your sugar cookie recipe is spreading, try reducing the amount of sugar
you are using in the recipe. Limiting sugar helps reduce spreading.
- Always dry your cookies as quickly as possible particularly if you are using a
wet on wet technique. I use a standard pedestal fan for drying.
- White RI won’t stay white after a few days. Add a White gel paste (such as
Americolor Bright White) to help your RI stay white.
- When dropping in another colour, it helps to have your drop in colour slightly
thinner than your flood consistency. This will help give a smooth finish and
reduce raised dots.
