COLOURED CHOCOLATE
Hollow Chocolate Snowman
Coloured chocolate is simply white chocolate to which colouring has been added.
Because you cannot add a water based liquid to your chocolate it is very important
to ensure that you are using the correct colouring before adding it to your chocolate.
The Chocolate Den supplies a range of oil soluble powder colourings.
If you do not want to colour your own chocolate you can buy our ready to use coloured
chocolate meltz.
Melt the coloured chocolate in the usual manner in a double boiler or microwave oven.
Paint the inside
of your mould with
a thick coating
of melted coloured
chocolate. Allow
the coloured
chocolate so set.
When making any
hollow chocolate
mould ensure that
you have a front
and back mould
in other words a
mould that forms a
3D image.

Fill your painted
mould 3/4 way up
with melted white
chocolate. Place the
two halves on top of
each other and seal
them together with
bull dog clips.
Shake the mould
in order to allow the
melted white chocolate
in the one half to coat
the entire mould.
Leave to reach
room temperature
before placing it in
the freezer.
Ensure that you turn
the mould every few
minutes onto its
opposite side while it
cools. This allows the
chocolate to evenly
coat the inside of the
mould and as a result
prevent cracking.
Place in the freezer
until set.
(Approximately ten
minutes)
Unmould when set.
