person, she sought out organizations
she felt strongly about. This opened up a
world of volunteerism, which added
even more friends. If there was not an
organization, she would spearhead a
new one. Always concerned that women
did not know enough about controlling
their financial stability and future, she
started a successful investment club fo-
cused on education only. NAIC (Nation-
al Association of Investment Clubs) pro-
vided the format, remember Beard’s
Town Ladies? Kathi also served as pres-
ident for an HOA in Breckenridge, Colo-
rado where she owned property and
convinced the homeowners to vote for a
$21 million remodel of the ski resort.
Then on to fundraising chairman and
board member for a county-wide organi-
zation in Naples, Florida.
Kathi moved to Charbonneau about
four years ago and quickly joined the
tennis club. Again, to meet tennis
friends and play her favorite sport. US-
TA provides many opportunities to
meet like minded people and make new
friends. Kathi joined the board of CTC
two years ago and participates on any
committee that needs an extra hand!
She also enjoys going to Timbers
soccer games with friends. It is such an
event and the fans put on quite a show!
Kathi’s two dogs (Buddy & Brittney)
are her constant companions and are
the “perfect” tennis dogs! They watch
quietly and do not chase the balls!
And so, she is now home after 30
years, and is delighted to be close to
her family, friends and tennis friends in
the beauty of Charbonneau.
