Initially, I resist- ed the idea of expanding the Country Club footprint (and yes, an increase in my dues) but that was before (1) attend- ing an exercise class in which participants were packed in the room like sardines, making aerobic exercise difficult and possibly unsafe and (2) attend- ing a drawing class in the base- ment where lighting was inad- equate. These experiences con- vinced me that we need to move forward to create suffi- cient space not only for the ac- tivities currently offered by the Country Club but to com- fortably add to them. I intend to stay in Charbon- neau indefinitely (hopefully as long as my 96-year-old neighbor has been doing with gusto). As the years go on, I expect the CCC will play even more of a central role in my community life. I am glad the Country Club is moving in the direction of growth and creativity, which must be done in order for Char- bonneau to remain vital and vi- brant. Again, thank you Annex Task Force for your perseverance in leadership, your calm and capa- ble planning, your focus on the future of our community. — ELISA DALE
