THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER 19 December 2019 Discount ■ Previous page It was called to my attention that I incor- rectly listed Jan Holley as incoming co-vice president for 2020, when it should have been Terry Borst. My apologies to Terry! Here is the complete list of 2020 elected officers. Wish them well and do please sign up to work on a committee. All volunteers are welcome! ■ Joann Linville - President ■ Laurie Bales and Terry Borst - Co-Vice Presi- dents ■ Debbie Bray - Treasurer ■ Lynda Huber Marshall and Laura Curran - Co- Secretaries ■ Sharon Kadell, Rose Mason and Kathy Stout - Tournaments ■ Cathi McLain - Past President Day’s play documented Kudos to Laura Noffke, our intrepid scoring chair, who documented our day’s play for the 2019 season, including weather and course conditions. Considering the fact that we ended the season with 102 members, the percentage of players on any given week was a little dis- appointing, but speaks to the fact that we’re a busy bunch, with travel, grandchildren and sometimes physical and health issues that keep us from participating. Let’s hope that 2020 will welcome more golfers to not only join CWGA, but to play more often! Hot Toddies to warm you after a round of winter golf I pulled these recipes from a past article in The Villager, for those of us who stay here in the winter and try to play in spite of cold tem- peratures. Enjoy! ■ Easy Chai Tea This café favorite is easier to make than you think; simply bring crushed spices, cinna- mon sticks, ginger, and milk to a boil, add tea bags, and let steep for 10 minutes. Brandy or other favorite spirits may be added. ■ Warm Mulled Cider Simmer apple cider with mulling spices, or- ange zest, and ginger to make a drink that smells as good as it tastes. Brandy or other favorite spirits may be added. ■ Mulled Red Cider Combine cinnamon sugar (optional), 1-3/4 cups apple cider or unsweetened apple juice, 1/2 cup sugar, three cinnamon sticks, four whole cloves in saucepan and heat through. Add one bottle dry red wine. Remove from heat. Cover and steep for 10 minutes. Strain. Serve hot in sugar-dipped mugs.
