22 THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER August 2019 complaining. Quite frank- ly, I prefer moderate tempera- tures. And VEDDER the garden is definitely not complaining! Oh well … back to the Sunshine Service. I’ve been going through our record book on things loaned out in the past, and I am seeing many items that go back many months. In some cases, more than a year! Sunshine Service By JOAN VEDDER Don’t forget to return supplies in a timely manner As I sit here, halfway through July, I am wonder- ing if we’ll have a “real” summer? Not that I’m When you signed the loan agreement for equipment, hopefully you were informed that we do request returns within a reasonable amount of time? When days turn in- to months, and then more months, perhaps you should consider purchasing items to be used indefinitely.... We will soon run out of equipment for new clients if nothing is returned. At varying times, we have an overload of certain things. Other times we are stretched very low due to an almost empty stockyard. Currently, there are only two or three aluminum walkers, while we have ample four-wheel walk- ers. McCann’s Pharmacy over in King City is well equipped with anything medi- cal... Items can be rented or purchased there. Our storage space in the CCC is workable although not particularly spa- cious so we do try to keep it well organized! We are hoping to attempt a mass inventory this summer, where things can be renum- bered and checked for wear- and-tear. Can you all please gather up the equipment you may have had for an extend- ed length of time, and return it? It will save countless phone calls to remind you . If you need help getting things back into our storage space, please call one of the volun- teers listed in your directory and we can assist you. Enjoy the few months that we have left to call summer. Always remember that Sun- shine Service is here to help you in need, with whatever we can supply. 2nd Victoria Mendenhall and Kathy Stout - 45 Charbonneau Women’s Golf Association 3rd Jackie Peters and Kathie Barton - 46 Handicap Tournament By LAURA CURRAN Don’t miss Beach Blanket Bingo Aug. 14 and 15 COURTESY PHOTOS Barbara Henderson and Ann VanDomelen were winners in the Partners Play Tournament. “W e should learn to savor some moments to let time feel worth existing.” The CWGA group has been doing just that with its sum- mer golf.
