Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments 2 cups cinnamon 2 cups applesauce Preparation In a large stain resistant bowl, mix together the cinnamon and the applesauce until it forms a dough. The dough should be fairly stiff. Dust your countertop with cinnamon and roll out the dough. Roll it out thin enough to be able to dry easily, but not so thin that it will crumble after drying, somewhere between 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Get out your favorite cookie cutters and cut out your ornaments. Reroll any left over dough, and make more ornaments with it. Place shapes on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and use a straw to cut a small hole near the top of each ornament. These should be bigger than you think you will need, as the ornament and the hole will shrink a little bit during drying. Bake the ornaments at 200 degrees for 2 and 1/2 hours or until dry. Your house will smell wonderful, both while baking and while your ornaments hang on your tree or wreath. Have recipe suggestions? Send them our way! Email [email protected].
