Money Saving Tips for the End of the Year
The end of the year is a wonderful time to make some money
saving decisions. From medical to taxes and everywhere in between, you are in an great place to make some choices that may
effect your money situation for all of 2014.
MEDICAL:
If your insurance plan year is ending as 2013 comes to an end,
check to see if you have met your deductible. If you have, this is a
great time to get in well-child visits and your annual physical, too.
Make those appointments now!
If you particiapte in a Health Flexible Spending Account, they are
generally use it or lose it! Make sure to spend the rest of the money
in your account. Somre rules have changed, and you may have a
bit longer to spend it, but making eye doctor appointments, buying
your band-aids and tylenol now may be a good idea.
TAXES:
Check on your W-4 at work. If you generally get a large tax return, you may be having too much withheld. Decreasing the amount
withheld will increase the amount you receive on each paycheck.
Kiplinger’s has a tool to show you how much more you could be
receiving each paycheck at http://www.kiplinger.com/tool/taxes/
T055-S001-tax-withholding-calculator-kiplinger/index.php. It is like
receiving next year’s refund beginning right now, in monthly installments!
