They use the Internet.  Information that they should find are: Name of the structure, Location (city and country), construction features (construction year, name of the arquitect….), Materials, Forces involved, Type of structure, Important facts and curiosities.  Students take notes in their notebooks with the main information.  They work in pairs and do a writing about the structure.  They do a Powerpoint with this information.  Finally, they make a presentation in the classroom.  All mates should listen carefully and then, they should make questions about the presentation of this Famous Structure. Learn about structures around the world. a) Take lot of information about a Famous Structure and try to sum up and prepare a writing and a speaking while their class mates listen to others and then, they ask and answer questions. b) Work in pairs and practice reading, writing, listening and speaking in English. Learning English and Technology finding information about Structures around the world. Find information about a Famous Structure. Sum up this information. Do a writing with the main information of this structure. Do a Powerpoint to make a presentation. Do the presentation in a lesson. Interact one to each other. Medium 1 In previous lessons, teacher explained about structures: types of efforts, type of structures, materials… 2 In this lesson, teacher explains with an example how to do the project. 3 Teacher do a previous activity about Famous Structures around the world. 4 Teacher help them with vocabulary 5 Students work in pairs. 6 In presentations everybody should participate. Strengths Students develop their reading comprehension. Students develop their writing in pairs. Students also improve their speaking (making presentations and asking questions) They also improve their listening. Weaknesses It really difficult to control if students are interacting in English or in their mother tongue. Some students may need more time to assimilate the text and write. Introverted student do not participate. 12
