Background Founded in 1976, Amos House is celebrating fifty years of community impact. From a small soup kitchen serving twenty people each day, to today’ s agency offering more than twenty programs and serving 1,000 meals a day, Amos House is a staple of the Rhode Island community. Each year, we assist 15,000 individuals in their pathway from crisis to stability. We own twenty-one properties and offer shelter, permanent supportive housing, job training, clinical services and more. |
BRAG LINES Amos House values lived experience and believes in the community we serve. More than half of our staff are former guests or recipients of services. We operate the state’ s largest emergency family shelter, serve 200,000 + meals a year in our soup kitchen, offer job training and financial literacy programs, manage permanent supportive housing for over 300 households, offer family reunification programs, and act as a place of hope and opportunity to thousands. |
