Market Analysis
When it comes to couples getting married, I expect the numbers to stay flat or increase slightly. This is in line with previous forecasts. The 2012 American Community Survey (ACS) shows a slight increase in the total married population. From 2011 to 2012 the increase was about ½ of 1% or .006%, 48.2% of the population in 2011 to 48.5% of the population in 2012. The bottom line is that the number of couples getting married has returned to 1968 levels and will continue to remain there for many years. The pattern will be slight increases and decreases staying t about 2.1 to 2.2 million per year.
