SECTION UPDATE Bankruptcy Section By M. Regina Thomas United States Bankruptcy Court [email protected] T he Bankruptcy Section held its annual Fall Social on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Shout Restaurant in Colony Square. Almost 60 members of the Section enjoyed the kick-off of fall and the many projects for the coming months. Along with existing activities like CARE and the Reaffirmation Project, the Section will begin the Low Income Creditor Assistance Project (LICAP). The goal of the LICAP is to provide low income judgment creditors with free legal assistance in bankruptcy cases. LICAP will partner with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (ALVF) and maintain a database of volunteer lawyers for this exciting new pro bono opportunity.
