U
nder the energetic leadership of
Section chair Shelly Ellerhorst,
the Environmental and Toxic
Tort Section has been busy with a
variety of activities. Beginning at the
start of the school year, the Section
began publishing monthly “E-Blast”
newsletters, written by law student
members and edited by the Section
board members, which provide
valuable topical updates. E-Blast
newsletters are sent to Section
members and are also published in
the Section blog, on our website.
The Section enjoys the local
environment by holding regular
activities with its members and with
other Sections. We held a wellattended happy hour at Front Page
News in July, and in September joined
the members of the Real Estate
Section for a tour of the Atlanta BeltLine
followed, of course, by a happy hour.
Excess revenue from the event was
donated to Trees Atlanta to further its
work in keeping Atlanta green.
Upcoming events include a winter CLE
program, to continue our tradition of a
relevant annual educational event, and
a family-oriented spring service project
to be held in March 2015 to enhance
our local ecosystem.
Section members enjoy active and
sociable programming, and we always
welcome new members.
