T
he 2014 ACYL Associates’ Campaign for Legal Services
will run throughout the entire month of October 2014.
The Associates Campaign is an annual grass-roots
campaign comprised of associates at Atlanta-area law firms
that aims to raise both awareness of the critical need for
pro bono legal services in our community and much-needed
funds for those organizations.
The ACYL celebrated the Campaign kick-off at a happy
hour on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Ri Ra Irish Pub.
Representatives of the Campaign’s beneficiary organizations
were on hand to discuss their work and answered questions
regarding how to contribute and get involved.
The beneficiaries of the 2014 Campaign are:
Georgia Innocence Project; Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers
Foundation, Inc.; Atlanta Legal Aid Society; Georgia Legal
Services Program; Georgia Resource Center; Georgia
Appleseed; Georgia Justice Project; GreenLaw; Truancy
Intervention Project Georgia; Southern Center for Human
Rights; Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta; and Investor
Advocacy Clinic.
Since its inception in 2000, the Associates’ Campaign
has raised over $500,000 for Atlanta-area legal services
organizations. Last year alone, the Associates’ Campaign
raised $22,788 from associates in law firms across Atlanta for
sixteen legal services organizations. The leaders from last
year in terms of raising total dollars are as follows:
1. Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore, LLP ($9,270)
2. Taylor English Duma, LLP ($2,501)
