CONSTRUCTION LAW
On Wednesday, February 26, 2020 the Construction Law Section
held its breakfast at The Buckhaed Club. The topic was the 2020
Legislative Update with speaker Mark S. Woodall (Director,
Governmental Affairs, AGC-Georgia). With a sucessful turnout,
over 40 members attended this informative event.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION
On February 5, 2020, the Dispute Resolution Section held its
monthly CLE breakfast at The Buckhead Club. The February
panel presentation, “Overcoming Language Barriers at
Mediation,” included a lively discussion about the importance of
clear communication with parties of limited English proficiency,
and tips for the effective use of foreign-language interpreters.
Topics also included managing the range of language challenges
that can arise in mediations with international parties and
individuals of different national origins.
Panel speakers included Michael J. Eshman (The Eshman Law Firm, LLC), Douglas J. Witten (BAY Mediation), Jana J. Edmondson-
Cooper (Edmondson Consulting, LLC), and Hon. Dax E. Lopez (DeKalb County State Court)
