When God led the Israelites in the
wilderness for 40 years, their clothes did
not wear out and their sandals were as
they were on the first day of their journey. Even after the Israelites witnessed all
the miracles, they could not understand
them. We cannot understand the miracles with a physical heart. A spiritual
heart only knows God and understands
things that are not natural but supernatural.
It is not in the act of attending the
church, being baptized or celebrating the
festivals that we can comprehend God
but only by identifying the blessing of
God in our family. We should be able to
see things as those that are supposed to
be and not as what they appear. And we
should think whether impossible things
are possible.
The Israelites did not ponder on how
their clothes and shoes could remain
without being worn out for 40 years.
But we should perceive the things in a
manner that has not been done till now.
God is ready to give us more ability than
a natural man has. So, we should have
such a receiving heart. Among the lakh
of Israelites who were walking in the wilderness, many died between the ages of
70 - 80. Now, God wants to satisfy us
with a long life and we require a heart
that understands this blessing. Abraham
lived for 175 years, a contended life to
even enjoy with his grandson. He who
doubted whether he would have a child
of his own, lived, prayed and praised God
together along with his grandson Jacob.
God’s blessings are steadfast for generations and they give us long life. God
gave the Israelites Manna from heaven,
meat in abundance and waters gushing
forth from the rocks. Even though God
performed so many miracles from them,
they really could not understand Him.
None of the miracles which God performed through Moses also could even
touch their hearts. Inspite of which, Moses chose 12 representatives out of the 12
tribes of Israel to spy the land of Canaan.
These 12 representatives go to Canaan,
the land that flowed with milk and honey which God promised to the Israelites.
NUMBERS 13 : 1 – 2 says, And the Lord
spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men,
that they may search the land of Canaan,
which I give unto the children of Israel: of
every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a
man, everyone a ruler among them.
NUMBERS 13 : 17 – 20 says, And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up
this way southward, and go up into the
mountain: And see the land, what it is;
and the people that dwelleth therein,
whether they be strong or weak, few or
many; And what the land is that they
dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and
what cities they be that they dwell in,
whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in
