FROM THE ESTATE MANAGER W 2016. e hope that you enjoyed the first issue of our newsletter which was distributed in September The Thatchfield Homeowner’s Association (THOA) is proud to announce that we have gone green. BOA Gape Waste Recycling was officially launched on the 1st of October 2016 and the City Council delivered more than 1000 recycling bags to the HOA Management Office. We urge you to participate in this project by recycling your waste. You are most welcome to collect your recycling bags from the HOA Management Office during office hours. Many countries across the globe recognise the importance of educating the youth about the benefits of keeping our environment green. With this in mind, many countries celebrate Arbor Day once a year – a day on which trees are planted and where emphasis is placed on the importance trees play in the circle of life. In South Africa, Arbor Day is celebrated for an entire week. Thatchfield embraced this idea and planted 425 trees in Thatchfield Hills. The Servest Landscaping team also created a lovely garden next to Brakfontein Road. Kindly note that with the water restrictions imposed by the City Council, you are not allowed to water your garden between 06:00 and 18:00. Unfortunately, it seems that there are still a few residents who do not adhere to the City Council’s request. Again, we urge you to use water wisely and to save water wherever possible. You may want to save water by using bath water to water your garden or to flush your toilet. We added additional road signage boards in Brakfontein Road to indicate the entrances to Thatchfield Hills 1, Thatchfield Close 1 and Thatchfield Close. pg 6 Thatchfield News Mossie Mostert - Estate Manager Signage indicating the complex names was placed on the boundary walls at Thatchfield Close and Thatchfield Hills and we trust that this will help visitors to easily locate your property. We’ve recently painted road markings at Thatchfield Crescent, Thatchfield Manor, Thatchfield Glen and Thatchfield Gardens. In addition to this, we also undertook repair work at the various guardhouses to fix broken doors, windows and gates. Light bulbs were replaced with LED lights to save electricity. On the security side, we installed two heat signal cameras. One facing towards Olievenhoutbosch and another towards the N14 at the golf course. We were able to make two arrests based on footage recorded on these cameras and also managed to recover a stolen motorbike. We are pleased to announce that our security control room is now equipped with security monitors. The control personnel are monitoring 76 cameras which were placed all over Thatchfield Estate, and also at the guardhouses. We are extremely proud of our team who are working around the clock to ensure your safety and we wish to thank them for their hard work. Fidelity Security has appointed a new Duty Manager, Mr Richard Maluleka to replace Mr Wiekus van der Merwe who resigned earlier this year. Richard who started as a security guard at Thatchfield HOA proved himself a worthy candidate through a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication. We would also like to welcome back Mr Schalk de Klerk who
