21 Understanding Stress Management in the Workplace Institute of Leadership and Management Level 3 Content of Training Delegates will develop a greater understanding in relation to managing own stress and minimising stress in others, the training will also cover support mechanisms for individuals and those working within a team. Topics included on the day will be: • Causes and impacts of stress at work • Symptoms of stress in self and in others • Implications of stress for workplace and non-work activities/relationships • Implications and effects of stress for individuals and organisations • Management responsibilities in relation to work-related stress • Simple practical stress management techniques • Sources of available support for stress sufferers • Action planning and review techniques • Definitions of counseling, advising and mentoring and when to use each of them to support individuals • Principles of counseling • Mentoring, and the mentoring cycle • Range of available counseling and support mechanisms • Implications of confidentiality Course Entry Criteria There are no formal entry requirements but delegates will normally be either practicing or aspiring first line managers with the opportunity to meet the assessment requirements. Delivery 1day workshop followed by distance learning support, independent study and research. Assessment Delegates will complete an assignment, which will be marked by the assessor, internally verified by the IV before certification is awarded via ILM. Fees £145.00 .
