Senior Leader
Jared Boone
Senior Group Leader
Prior to the beginning of the school year, I did a lot of personal reflection on the meaning of leadership and how I planned to fulfill the responsibilities of the Senior Group Leader. This year, I focused on pushing the community to give its best effort day in and day out. I believe that one of our biggest challenges as a community is acknowledging positive behavior and using that positivity as motivation rather than becoming focused on negative behavior all the time. As I look back upon my experience as SGL, I can truly say that I am humbled and grateful for the amount of support I’ ve received from the entire community. Words cannot express how much I love this school. We’ ve grown tremendously as a community and my hope is that the Class of
2014 can pick up where we left off and continue to pass on our traditions and values.“ Whatever hurts my brother hurts me. Whatever helps my brother helps me.”

Freshman Leader
Being the Freshman Leader has been an honor for me. I was able to see these students grow throughout the year and see how far they have developed as a class. It was tough in the beginning, but I pushed myself and my team to have a successful year. The freshmen ended up being on top of the academic standings; that showed me that these guys will make me proud throughout their years here at Benedict’ s. It was challenging throughout the year because I had to remember I was not fully in control of the freshman program and that I had to let the counselors do their job. I never wanted to be the best – I just wanted to leave an impact on these young men that will make them remember me and understand what it means to be a Benedict’ s man. I want to thank Mr. Cassidy for all the help he has provided me and the rest of the leaders. He is a great mentor and understands how to run the program well. He let me make mistakes and allowed me to learn from them. If it wasn’ t for him, I wouldn’ t have done a great job. I thank the section leaders and the counselors for helping me because without them too, my job would have been more difficult than what it already was. I hope that the next year’ s freshman leader has a successful year and will do a better job than me because there is always room for development. Never forget WHATEVER HURTS MY BROTHER HURTS ME, WHATEVER HELPS MY BROTHER HELPS ME!
