Transfer Leader
As the school year ends, the Senior Leadership describe their experiences, triumphs, frustrations, and wishes. It has been a year of growth and learning. More importantly, the leaders continue the strong tradition of student leadership at St. Benedict’ s Prep.
The transition into becoming a part of the St. Benedict’ s community is a difficult period and process, and the task of the Transfer Leader is to help the new students become familiar with the ways that our community builds a Benedict’ s Man. The role of Transfer Leader is extremely difficult, and the senior who is given this role must create a balance between helping the new students through the difficult transition and motivating them, sometimes somewhat forcefully, to work through the process of becoming a stronger part of the community. In this way, just as the Freshmen struggle through their becoming members of the community and yet find meaning and encouragement from the struggle itself, so too would the transfer students use the lessons from their struggle in the transition process to become valuable contributors to The Hive.

7th and 8th Grade Leader
Being the 7th and 8th leader pushed my self-esteem up to a mature level. I learned various things about myself and amounted to things I wouldn’ t have imagined. The 7th and 8th graders always put a smile on my face because they reminded me of the years when I was an LD. I am thankful for the leaders who have left behind the responsibility to me. My approach to this year was to give back to the Hive, and in my role of being the 7th and 8th grade Leader allowed me to be able to do that, to give to SBP as much as it has given me and more.
