cleaning – so why not our medicine? Ranjeet Khanda,
owner of online dispensary Linthorpe Pharmacy talks
about his bespoke prescription service…

iddlesbrough-born Ranjeet
Khanda graduated from
Sunderland University with a
Masters in Pharmacy before becoming a
fully-qualified pharmacist working across the
North-East.
Noticing that four of the biggest five
dispensers were online, Ranjeet saw a
gap in the market on Teesside. Linthorpe
Pharmacy is a delivery-only pharmacy, based
in Middlesbrough, whose goal is to make
the experience of ordering and delivering
prescriptions simple and FREE for patients
and carers.
“These days people work such long hours
that collecting a prescription takes valuable
time out of their day,” says Ranjeet. “We can
deliver prescriptions to a workplace or to
home at the customer’s convenience.
“Prescriptions can be ordered via the NHS
app or a doctor’s website
and then we will do the
rest. It’s ideal for those
who have really busy lives,
or others who can’t leave the house due to
physical or mental illness.
“In the year since we opened, the feedback
has been that customers love to see the
friendly face of our delivery driver.”
What makes Linthorpe Pharmacy’s service
doubly appealing is that it’s totally free of
charge.
“There are a lot of pharmacies in the area
that charge for delivery,” says Ranjeet. “But
we remain committed to offering people on
Teesside free deliveries, regardless of where
they live.”
Ranjeet now has a dedicated team of
healthcare assistants working hard to fill an
increasing number of prescriptions, but there
is always time to give advice to customers.
“We have facilities to deliver anywhere
in the UK so if anyone is reading this out
of area and they want a prescription, they
are more than welcome to give us a call,”
he adds. “You can also ask me or any of
the team about general medical concerns.
