Gathering – head of business growth and marketing Suzanne Donald chats with a guest at a special event to welcome PBS to its new home.
The decision to establish a presence in Teesside followed careful market analysis and recognition of the region’ s continued investment across conventional energy, low-carbon developments, renewable energy and chemical and pharmaceutical processing.
Teesside is widely recognised as one of the UK’ s most significant industrial clusters, combining a strong heritage in petrochemicals and heavy industry with increasing focus on future-facing energy and infrastructure projects.
The Wilton Centre provides PBS with a strategic base at the centre of this activity, enabling closer engagement with both existing operations and emerging developments.
Suzanne Donald, head of business growth and marketing at PBS, described how the decision to locate the company’ s first local hub in Teesside was driven by the region’ s industrial profile and longterm growth potential.
She said:“ Teesside was a very deliberate choice for us. The region has a unique mix of established industrial assets
and major investment across energy transition and process sectors, which aligns strongly with where PBS is focusing its onshore growth.
“ Establishing a local base allows us to support ongoing project discussions, work more closely with clients and the supply chain and build relationships that matter – while also creating a firm foundation for future regional hubs across the UK.”
From the Wilton Centre, PBS is already supporting client engagement and earlyphase project activity across maintenance, engineering and energy-transition-related scopes.
Early involvement at this stage allows the company to contribute to planning and design decisions, supporting improved long-term operational performance and maintenance outcomes.
The Teesside operation is led by business development manager Richie Colley, who was appointed to establish a permanent local presence and strengthen relationships with regional clients and stakeholders.
Since joining, the focus has been on embedding PBS within the local industrial landscape, increasing visibility and developing strong working relationships with both established operators and organisations involved in emerging projects.
PBS is structured to support a wide range of activities, including maintenance planning, engineering support, modifications and shutdown preparation, drawing on the wider capabilities of the consortium while maintaining local coordination.
This balance between global expertise and local delivery enables both technical depth and responsive service.
Beyond project delivery, the Teesside expansion reflects PBS’ s commitment to operating responsibly within the regions it serves.
Backed by investment from the wider business, the Wilton Centre supports local employment, skills development and long‐term engagement with the regional supply chain, creating both economic and social value.
Richie said Teesside’ s industrial profile and level of activity made it the perfect location for the next phase of PBS’ s development.
He added:“ What makes Teesside compelling is its unique blend of established assets, significant investment programmes and genuinely transformational projects.
“ We’ re engaging with clients across petrochemicals, energy transition initiatives such as Net Zero Teesside, renewable energy and wider infrastructure.
“ Having a local presence means we can respond more quickly, build stronger relationships and make meaningful, longterm investments in the region.”
As PBS continues to develop its presence in Teesside, the Wilton Centre represents the first step in a broader UK strategy centred on regional hubs, local engagement and sustained support for evolving industrial and energy markets.
This positions the company to respond effectively to both current industry demands and future opportunities linked to the transition towards more sustainable energy future.
