Team – Rawjinder and support dog Rocky. training, learning to alert before seizures, providing safety and reassurance to autistic children and offering hard-won independence to those with mobility challenges.
Crucially, every dog is provided to its partner entirely free of charge- but the cost of training, care and ongoing support runs into many thousands of pounds for each placement.
That is what makes corporate partnerships like INDUSTRO’ s so vital to the charity’ s ability to continue its work. During the visit, Chris and Cordelia walked the INDUSTRO team through the realities of training and placing a support dog, and the complexities of the process.
For INDUSTRO, this year’ s donation comes as the company celebrates a decade in business – 10 years in which it has grown from a single venture into a fully integrated engineering group spanning three specialist disciplines.
VERTEX delivers construction and civil engineering services, INTEK provides electrical engineering expertise from design through to commissioning and INDUSTRO Design Engineering handles the technical design work that ties everything together.
Between them, the three companies offer a true full-turnkey solution to clients across the industrial, commercial and energy sectors.
“ Reaching 10 years is a real milestone for everyone who has been part of the INDUSTRO journey,” said John.“ We’ ve built this group on strong relationships, technical excellence and a commitment to doing the right thing.
“ Growth and giving back aren’ t separate ambitions for us- they’ re part of the same mindset.”
Support Dogs is keen to hear from other businesses across Teesside and beyond who might consider joining INDUSTRO in supporting its work.
Whether through annual donations, fundraising events, sponsorship of a dog in training or staff volunteering days, every contribution helps the charity bring more life-changing partnerships into being.
“ We’ re always looking for businesses to help us continue this work,” said Chris.
“ The support of companies like INDUSTRO doesn’ t just fund training- it raises awareness of what assistance dogs can do and brings hope to families who are waiting for the right match.”
As INDUSTRO looks ahead to its next decade of growth, John is clear that giving back will remain part of the business’ DNA.“ We want to grow,” he said.“ But we also want to be the kind of company that does the right thing- for our clients, for our people and for the community around us. Partnering with Support Dogs is one of the best ways we know to do exactly that.”
