Teesside’ s INDUSTRO marks a decade in business with another annual donation to life-changing charity Support Dogs
There was an unusual sight at INDUSTRO Engineering Group’ s Teesside headquarters recently. Alongside the usual hard hats, technical drawings and project plans, two of the most cheerful new visitors padded through reception on four paws.
Chris Daykin and Cordelia van Ristel from the Support Dogs team were joined by Rosie the spaniel and Duke the labrador to meet INDUSTRO’ s chief executive officer John Betts and discuss the life-changing work the organisation does for children and adults across the UK.
The visit marked a milestone moment for INDUSTRO, which this year celebrates 10 years in business- and another year of giving back.
The Teesside-based, full-turnkey engineering company- which incorporates VERTEX Construction and Civil Engineering, INTEK Electrical Engineering and INDUSTRO Design Engineering – has made continuous yearly donations to Support Dogs since beginning its partnership with the charity.
For INDUSTRO’ s CEO, the cause is more than corporate philanthropy. John has a close family member living with ADHD and the family’ s experience of navigating life with a neurodevelopmental condition has given him a deep appreciation for the work assistance dogs do, and the difference a four-legged companion can make to families facing daily challenges.
“ This charity is very close to my heart,” said John.“ When you’ ve seen at first-hand how a child’ s world can change with the right support, you understand the value of every pound that goes into training these incredible dogs. Supporting this work isn’ t just something we do as a business- it’ s something I believe in personally.

Support Dogs, a registered national charity headquartered in Sheffield, trains specialist assistance dogs that transform the lives of children with autism and adults living with epilepsy and physical disabilities.
