We are able to oversee all stages of a project, from concept through to design, installation, testing and ongoing maintenance.
The future is looking bright for all of them, as all INDUSTRO Engineering Group companies see the potential for huge growth and some outstanding opportunities in the decades to come.
Speaking of INTEK’ s growth potential, Iain says:“ When John and I set up INTEK, INDUSTRO already had an excellent foothold in the sectors INTEK wanted to enter, and we thought it was quite an exciting opportunity – and it’ s still an exciting time four years on.
“ Initially, I had a portfolio of clients I had an excellent working relationship with who supported the setting up of INTEK, and that gave us a foundation from which to start.
“ We are now a key component in the group model and although we are a relatively young company, we are gaining traction and growing along with working with some of the biggest companies on Teesside.
INDUSTRO’ s customers benefit hugely from working with INTEK on their electrical requirements, as it means they have a single point of contact on each project.
“ We’ re used to working together and we know where and how to fit in with each other,” Iain says.
“ Ultimately, we are able to oversee all stages of a project, from concept through to design, installation, testing and ongoing maintenance.”
One such joint project included work on HS2 down in London in INTEK’ s second year of operation which ended up a £ 2m project or INDUSTRO and INTEK collectively.
“ It was a great project to be involved with for nine months so early in our business’ s inception,” Iain comments.“ We are picking up more and more clients since HS2 helped us get established.
“ In the last 12 to 18 months, we’ ve really started to expand our client base, which is incredibly encouraging.”
Word-of-mouth endorsements and organic work from the same clients is helping – as well as the fact INTEK that is a“ friendly, forward-thinking and approachable company which is not commercially aggressive”.
“ We are supportive to our clients and understand their requirements,” Iain says.
“ Most importantly, we are committed to providing the highest quality solutions and standards of work at a competitive price, offering solutions which suit our clients’ timeframes and budgets.
“ Our work ethic at INTEK aligns with John’ s vision for INDUSTRO, of providing high standards and quality solutions.
From the outset, we have been strongly aligned in our shared commitment to delivering high-quality work and standards while remaining competitive and costeffective to our customers.
Iain is keen to add that it’ s a team effort, saying:“ The standard of work the team turn out is exceptional. This is reflected in the feedback we get and repeat requests to carry out work for the same customers.
“ We are also frequently complimented on the level of professionalism we show, from director level down to the work carried out by the lads on the job.
“ Our professionalism filters down to all levels. All the core members of our team have been the driving force behind our success – we are very lucky to have a very strong core team.”
The business is particularly focused on growing its client base in the petrochemicals industry and in hazardous area working, where it can support installation, maintenance and electrical inspections.
Steven Johnson, operations manager and a time-served electrician with a background in the petrochemical industry, shared his thoughts on joining INTEK:“ It’ s been great to join a company that is truly going from strength to strength. INTEK’ s commitment to the highest standards is clearly paying dividends, as we continue to secure and deliver work on top-tier COMAH sites across Teesside, operating in full compliance with DSEAR.
“ It all adds up to an exciting future for many years to come.”
