A
significant contract win in the burgeoning renewables sector on Teesside is taking INTEK Electrical a further step towards establishing itself as a major force in electrical engineering across the region and beyond.
INTEK has recently relocated to its new headquarters at the Port of Middlesbrough, joining INDUSTRO Engineering and Vertex Civil Engineering in the group offices. Operating as a standalone entity, INTEK provides specialist electrical engineering solutions, maintenance, inspection and testing services to some of Teesside’ s leading industrial operators, including those in the petrochemical sector and other hazardous environments.
At the same time, INTEK plays a key role within the broader INDUSTRO Engineering Group’ s‘ turnkey engineering model’, delivering the electrical engineering scopes on major projects undertaken by the group.
INTEK prides itself on offering cost effective and high-quality solutions for clients – and it’ s keen to develop and grow from within by nurturing electrical apprentices.
“ We want to grow but we also want to take the next generation of talent with us to build a force to be reckoned with,” says Iain Wilson, managing director of INTEK, who met INDUSTRO Engineering Group’ s CEO John Betts when they were both working on a project on HS2.
Iain’ s son Sam is one of INTEK’ s current apprentices, which gives extra significance to Iain’ s idea of supporting the electrical engineers of the future.
“ We get on very well together and he’ s doing really well in all his assessments”.
“ The main thing is that we are growing talent for the future and that’ s why we’ re committed to providing a platform that all our apprentices can grow and thrive from.
“ We are very proud of all our apprentices and committed to helping them succeed. It’ s hard to find trades people who deliver the standards we expect, so it makes total business sense for us to invest in future talent.”
