RECRUITMENT
Colleagues – some of the Moonrise team at work as the firm celebrates a decade in business .
“ Because we are so passionate about care , we believe it sets our company apart from other recruitment agencies out there .
“ We are determined to always provide the highest quality of care – the same level of care we would expect for ourselves and that we provided when we were working in the sector .”
Jessica also takes pride in the fact many Moonrise staff have been with the firm for a large proportion of the 10 years it has been in operation .
“ It makes it very nice for everyone because we have worked together so hard as a team , so there will be a big celebration on the way for our 10th anniversary ,” Jessica says , adding that the company has grown in “ every aspect ” during that time .
“ We started with a small office the size of one room . We have 300 staff now and we had about eight to start with , covering one care home .
“ Now , we ’ ve got our own training facility and office space that will accommodate more than 30 people – and we ’ ve purchased another building in Scotland .”
Moonrise also has about 15 properties within the business for supported living . Jessica says there was no special reason for choosing Scotland for the firm ’ s “ next venture ” and adds Moonrise may even expand to other countries within Europe .
John added : “ We are trying to market the qualities and experience we have got and expand based on our experience and expertise .
“ As a brand , we have a lot to offer , which other agencies in the same sector can ’ t .
“ We are taking ourselves to Scotland with the qualities we have got and we think we can provide something more valuable than the services that are there right now .”
Jessica , the Tees Valley ’ s BME Businessperson of the Year for 2023 , adds that when it comes to care , Moonrise always looks at the positives .
“ Recruiting staff in the care sector is a difficult situation for anyone but we look at this negative and think about how we can turn it into a positive – and that is by putting our own excellent staff into organisations ,” she says .
“ We have had people joining our company with a lot of experience but we still offer training and support .
“ We hold their hand and make sure they have all the skills and guidance they need .
“ We just have to continue working hard and making sure that we maintain the brand and the quality and high standard of care we have set out to provide .”
Speaking of her award win , she said : “ It was nice to be acknowledged by the community for the good work we had been doing .
“ The fact external people are recognising you are doing a great job provides reassurance .”
However , she adds , with a name like Moonrise , the company always wants to aim higher and offer “ next-level care ”.
“ We are ploughing back most of what we earn into the business for us to meet the standards we think people being cared for in a wide range of different settings deserve ,” Jessica says .
“ We want to work with people who have a caring heart . That is what drives me .
“ I want a service that ’ s going to be out there providing individuals with the best care to meet their needs .”
