Tees Valley commercial gas heating and air conditioning installation and maintenance firm wants to keep living up to the high standards it has set by hiring more people who care .
Climatec Engineering wants to bolster its workforce with a number of new commercial gas , plumbing and heating engineers .
And the Redcar-based business is willing to provide training where necessary and for the right candidate to maintain its reputation for retaining customers and delivering a top-quality service .
Co-owner Neil Gilsenan said : “ I have found that finding good quality engineers capable of joining a company that provides a top service to be one of the biggest challenges we have faced in six years of business .
“ We want our staff to provide work to match our high expectations and standards . Speaking to other business owners in the same industry , and various industries for that matter , it seems such problems are across the board .
“ There are people out there , you just have to find them . We are determined to bring in those capable of helping Climatec grow in the manner we want .”
Paul Greensmith , who set up the company along with Neil in 2017 , thinks opportunities in the industry don ’ t come along too often like those on offer at an ever-growing business like Climatec .
Paul , revealing Climatec has re-signed for a further year as a community business partner at Middlesbrough FC , said : “ I was at the Riverside Stadium recently and I was having a conversation with a guy next to me about the pool of staff to hire from – it ’ s not huge .
“ It is hard to find people who care enough to take the business forward and

we want local people who care , who we can develop and upskill where needed . We have a proven track record for this .
“ On top of this there is an opportunity to travel nationwide , into Europe and even further afield – these are jobs that are exciting for people if they are passionate enough to embrace the roles .”
Climatec ’ s search for commercial gas , plumbing and heating engineers will add to an existing team of 10 gas , heating and air conditioning engineers , plumbers and mechanical fitters .
Neil and Paul are willing to invest in local people by providing the commercial training for a domestic gas engineer to strengthen their CVs to work on various projects . Developing staff is part of what Climatec has been doing already .
Gary Evans , from Brotton , was a domestic gas engineer who upskilled into a commercial gas engineer . The 44-year-old is now able to work on larger equipment after his water regulations training progressed into RPZ installation and commissioning .
Tony Campbell , approaching his 30th birthday , from Redcar , was a commercial catering engineer until Climatec upskilled him to be a fully qualified gas engineer .
And Kyle Cullen , from Newcastle , who arrived as a labourer / improver in his mid- 20s , was put through his air conditioning course and F-gas qualifications .
Neil said : “ We want to retain and upskill the right people , and recruit others to complement our team , whether that is the office staff or our engineers . We know what we want .
“ We are a provider of great opportunities for people and all our gas training is done through local providers .
“ We set Climatec up to establish high standards . One of our main clients recognised that we went the extra mile from the start , believed in myself and Paul , and that company is still with us to this day .
“ We tend to retain customers . I don ’ t think we have lost one in six years . We continue to grow , our turnover has gone up and the forecasts for the year ahead are looking good again .
“ We cover a huge area , coast to coast , from Cornwall to Oban in Scotland . And what ’ s more , many staff are based in Teesside or , if not , the North-East .”
