Sanderson Weatherall , the national property consultancy firm with a Teesside office , recently treated more than 30 guests to an exquisite fivecourse Australasian-inspired wine tasting night at Chadwicks Inn , Maltby .
Hosted by partners David Fairley and Matthew Clarke , the event served as a heartfelt thank you to clients and business associates in the Teesside community , as well as staff from Sanderson Weatherall ’ s Teesside and Newcastle offices . This annual tradition , now in its fourth year , has become a social highlight for many .
“ The idea for this unique client event originated from a desire to offer something a little different before the Christmas rush ,” David explains . “ Chadwicks is a great venue , and Lee Tolley runs the night superbly .”
Each year , the event explores wines from different regions . This time , the spotlight was on Australia and New Zealand .
“ We simply stick a finger on the map ,” laughs David . “ Lee does the rest , matching the menu and presenting the wines .”
This year marked a special addition for the company as they introduced a nominated charity , Daisy Chain , a Nortonbased charity supporting autistic and neurodivergent children , young people and adults , with head of business development and economic generation Johnathon Pickard as the guest of honour .
“ I ’ ve had personal experience with Daisy Chain and been really impressed with the support they provide and the difference it can make to families ,” says Matthew . “ It was a great opportunity for Johnathon to meet local businesspeople , chat about the positive impact the charity has in an informal setting and raise awareness .”
Sanderson Weatherall , known for its charitable initiatives , decided to donate to Daisy Chain in lieu of the traditional goody bags and encouraged their guests to make a contribution , with a chance to win the evening ’ s wine flight . Looking ahead , the company plans to extend its support by assisting the charity professionally on a pro bono basis , together with offering volunteer support .
The evening received rave reviews , with guests expressing their gratitude to the team at Chadwicks and to Matthew and David for a memorable evening .

Smiles – The evening was a thank you to clients and business associates , as well as staff .
New world – This year ’ s wine selection came from Australia and New Zealand .
