Rapidly expanding TRL Group move to new HQ and announce landmark deal

After an outstanding 2022 , globally renowned Tees firm TRL Group has achieved a notable double whammy just a few weeks into the New Year .

Not only has the company moved into plush new headquarters in the Wilton Centre , but it has also won a prestigious long-term contract with a leading global energy supplier .
While the name of that world-famous brand can ’ t be revealed for contractual reasons , TRL Group managing director Steve Smith was delighted to discuss the landmark deal , the move to new premises and his business ’ s impressive year-on-year growth .
The news follows the decision to place the firm ’ s training company , Teesside Rigging and Lifting , and its fabrication arm , Teesside Bridge Engineering , under the TRL Group banner .
TRL Group supplies highly trained specialists across the globe to work on major construction projects onshore and offshore , and also in the ever-growing renewable energy sector .
Winning a contract with a major global player will raise eyebrows within the fabrication , rigging and lifting community and represents a massive feather in the cap for proud Teessider Steve and his dedicated team .
“ This is a significant and crucial contract award for us ,” he says . “ We are delighted to be working with – and look forward to assisting – our client with their global projects .
“ This contract win allows TRL Group a platform for continued growth and expands our own global reach . This is testament to our ability to support leading global operators while also providing stability for our growing workforce .”
The new contract comes with the option of a future extension and will see TRL Group provide support for lifting and hoisting expertise across all lines of business , both onshore and offshore , via a framework agreement .
The big announcement follows lengthy assessment process over a period of nine months and the success of the negotiations was down to the relentless commitment and hard work of TRL Group ’ s dedicated team .
Many members of that highly motivated workforce are now enjoying their new surroundings at Wilton Centre .
The new HQ places TRL Group close to Teesworks and the freeport , although the firm ’ s well-respected and much-in-demand training centre remains at Stockton .
Steve believes the move will help take the expanding company to the next level in terms of status .
“ The Wilton Centre is the epicentre , and we want to be in here among it all ,” he explained . “ This is the hub . Everything ’ s happening around Wilton and there ’ s going to be a lot more work coming up .
“ We wanted to have a standalone HQ for our site services work , which is growing exponentially , getting bigger and bigger .
“ We ’ d outgrown where we were and we want to be associated on a daily basis with companies going in the same direction as we are .
