A s Durata ’ s managing director John McGee sat chatting with his design team around the table , it was impossible to ignore the boardroom ’ s new focal point .
While the smart , black and glass-fronted unit scrolled through various eye-catching holograms , business development manager Paul Hewitson , principal design engineer Thomas Smeaton and senior design engineer Gary Pollard discussed its relevance with John .
The impressive bit of kit at Durata ’ s Tees AMP base on Middlesbrough ’ s Riverside Park isn ’ t just for fancy decorative purposes . This , according to John , forms part of his “ concept to completion ” targets .
Durata , a trusted provider of installation and service support to the world ’ s largest uninterruptable power suppliers , is developing the design aspect of the business . The dazzling new holographic display is a significant part of that with Durata intent on providing clients , both potential and existing , with incredible visualisations , its team of qualified electrical and mechanical engineers advising on securing optimum performance , efficiency and reliability .
John , pointing towards the Dreammoc HD3 unit , said : “ We want to bring what we do to life in there . Imagine that image of the earth you see at the moment being stripped back to the core and a modular building appearing , complete with a fully populated data centre inside that we can design and install for clients anywhere in the world .
“ When I have a customer from a fibre network company or an edge data centre operator here , before they leave , we can make sure they visualise what we can provide for them .
“ It has been in development for a number of months . We are on the cusp of getting an order to build four modular buildings and we will engineer that into a 3D hologram .
“ To put it in more simple terms , if you have a cable , a supply , coming into your business , then we can tell you , show you , what you are getting into your business through that holographic display . It ’ s amazing really .”
