someone new comes in at a senior level and makes sweeping changes . But at ITS , this move is part of the current scaling up programme and is a step towards an even brighter future .
For a number of years , ITS has run under the governance of a senior leadership team ( SLT ), with Malcolm , Graham and Mark joined by Carole Knott , Dr Jennifer Thompson and Paul Ripley . As an SLT , they have set the trajectory of the business and introduced many successful strategic improvements to the business which , as a result , has introduced new offerings from ITS - solutions and services that include augmented reality , cobots and 3D printing , to name a few .
ITS ’ s core services , around the design and build of control systems , management information systems , machine vision systems and validation services , remain ever present and the focus is constantly on improving the quality of the customer experience . All these services and initiatives serve one primary purpose , to increase efficiency and add value to a customer ’ s businesses .
ITS ’ s continued use of artificial intelligence ( AI ) internally will further help increase efficiencies , improve productivity and provide a platform to bring AI into the customer experience . It will continue to deliver services and projects to the highest quality , a claim which is backed up by a 24-month warranty . But ITS continually looks at how to improve further through a culture focused on continuous improvement , aimed at developing both the employee and customer experience .
Its key markets have predominantly been in the regulated industries and future plans show this will be continued and , in fact , will grow over the next five years and into the

longer term , adapting and changing as needed .
ITS has already shown significant growth over the last few years through the introduction of an internal Let ’ s March ! programme , an initiative that looked at scaling up the business over the next five to ten years , implementing a cultural transformation that focused on empowerment of all staff members , providing an enhanced learning environment within the workplace and setting them up for an even better next 30 years .
Graham Ives says : “ It truly is an exciting time for ITS , and that excitement is felt through the very core of the company . It is my intent to ensure that ITS continues to enhance our offerings and continues to put our customers and our team at the centre of everything we do .
“ We have an amazing team of people at ITS who are constantly pushing each other to grow and develop to improve themselves and our customers ’ experience . I ’ m really proud to be part of a team who are coming up with new ideas , new solutions to problems and challenging each other – and me – to be
better every day .”
ITS is proud of its Tees Valley roots and is always keen to continue building strong business relationships in the region . This is cemented with the strong relationship it has with Teesside University , both at the main site in Middlesbrough and its growing relationship with the National Horizons Centre in Darlington .
ITS has always been big on giving back to the community and it intends to continue that support to charities such as Teesside Hospice , Butterwick Hospice and CEO Sleepout . Frequently working with Children Challenging Industry and UTC Newton Aycliffe , it aims to play its part in helping build STEM skills for the future of the North-East .
This support , together with membership of organisations such as NEPIC and sponsorship of local business awards , lends itself well to ITS ’ s approach as a company which is all about people , ensuring employees have a supportive environment focused on learning and development . The work they do ultimately saves lives , and the support in the community enhances the lives of people .
