Engineering firm looks to next 30 years with confidence
harles Darwin once said : “ It ’ s not the strongest of species that survives , nor the most intelligent . It is the one that is most adaptable to change .”
As you would expect , in the 30-year history of Industrial Technology Systems ( ITS ), there have been many changes , some significant , some not so much . But not only has it survived , ITS has thrived and will continue to do so well into the future , with significant growth plans underway as part of its scaling-up programme .
With change in mind , ITS founder Malcolm Knott recently moved to the position of chief executive officer . And although the ownership of the company remains unaffected , they now have a new managing director at the helm - not a huge change , just an inevitable one , says Malcolm .
After 24 years of service for ITS , with the latter seven years as projects director , Graham Ives has taken over the day-to-day

running and development of the business as managing director , with Mark Taylor as business development director and head of sales .
Graham started his working life at Nissan UK , serving an apprenticeship as a maintenance technician back in 1987 . He took on temporary team leadership roles as an apprentice , before moving on to lead a team of 20 automation engineers , designing and commissioning robotic welding lines for the automotive industry across Europe , working for the Western Atlas group .
Joining ITS in 1997 as a systems engineer , Graham worked in all ITS teams in an engineering capacity before moving into project management - again being involved in all the company ’ s delivery teams - and then into the role of projects director , where he was responsible for all customer project delivery . The step-up to MD , therefore , was a natural progression .
