During the IACP In Amenas Gas Compressions Project , TRL instructors trained and coached more than 100 candidates through the IHSP International Health & Safety Passport scheme .
Those involved ranged from onsite operatives , who all achieved the International Foundation Passport , to the HSE Management team , who all successfully achieved the Advanced Safety Passport .
TRL ’ s coaching covered slinger banksman training and rigging training onsite , and all rigging and lifting personnel were awarded ICE level 2 certificates .
TRL ’ s sister company Teesside Bridge Engineering is the fabrication arm of the operation , responsible for all plating , fabrication and welding activities , both in the workshop and onsite .
“ Our 6,000 sq ft fabrication shop facility has two-ton and ten-ton crane capacity with easy access , and we are fully self-sufficient ,” says Mr Smith .
Situated on Skippers Lane Industrial Estate in Middlesbrough , the fabrication shop is 15 minutes from the Wilton and SSI sites and Teesport .
Teesside Bridge Engineering is qualified to EN1090 , allowing it to fabricate to execution class 2 , and has ISO accreditations 9001 , 14001 and 45001 .
“ We are passionate about bringing the younger generation into this industry and have been heavily involved in the new rigging and erecting apprenticeship in the UK and have developed several programmes and standards for the ECITB ,” adds Mr Smith .
“ We have been heavily involved in the new apprenticeship standards and there are some very exciting times on the horizon . We are ambitious and want to play our part in raising the profile of the North-East and have plans for future development in the local area .
