‘ Dream ’ training centre primed for autumn launch
BY JULIE BURNISTON
This October marks the culmination of a 13-year dream for Phil Teasdale , CEO of Middlesbroughbased Enterprise Made Simple ( EMS ), with the launch of an executive education training centre at Riverside Park .
The company ’ s mission is to work with businesses locally and across the world , to sustain , grow and build , but it was always a goal to open a specific executive education centre on Teesside .
“ We began to re-evaluate our growth ambitions when we ran our first international programme in Boston in February , pre-Covid ,” says Phil .
“ The successful delivery of our Inspiration USA programme solidified that idea and we started working through our own ambitions and making them a reality .”
Phil found the home for the training centre at Riverside Park . An 8,000-sq ft state-of-the-art space set over two floors , it will be used for both physical and digital training , and allows the majority of EMS ’ s staff to come together under one roof , with specialist trainers being invited along to support the “ world class ” training on offer .
“ We have completely remodelled the building to our specifications ,” says Phil .
“ There ’ s enough room to ensure that we can retain social distancing without impacting the training , and for those who would prefer not to be present physically , we can still offer excellent digital training courses and events thanks to the creation of a digital training suite .”
The digital training element of the business came into its own during the pandemic , with EMS ’ s suite of training of online topics being sold to India , Australia and the USA to name but a few , as well as to those in our region and nationally .
The opening of the centre by a very special guest will coincide with a new logo and website with updated content , and despite not being officially open at the time Tees Business went to print , word has already spread , with unprecedented interest being shown in the forthcoming enterprise .
“ Enquires are coming in thick and fast , both nationwide and from overseas ,” Phil says .
“ The new London Heathrow link to Teesside Airport has really helped . It ’ s made Teesside more accessible and , for us , it ’ s been a total game-changer . The expected train links direct from London to Middlesbrough will hopefully see business boom even more .”
For local businesses , Phil is busy lining up a series of networking sessions which he calls “ Food Truck Fridays ”.
He explains : “ Because we have a large car park at the new facility , we are offering
Friday networking sessions outdoors . We are inviting food trucks along which will serve a variety of food from around the world .”
Phil is also actively looking for collaborators .
“ We know that some of the best trainers in the world are from the Tees Valley , so we would like to build strategic partnerships with those ,” he added .
“ We are open to new ideas , new innovative solutions and , most importantly , a group of collaborators who will help us become the worldwide established name for executive education right here on Teesside .
“ The sign above the door when you enter the new centre says it all : ‘ Through these doors pass some of the most exciting entrepreneurs in the world .’ We would love people to become part of our journey in a new , collaborative way .”
Whether you would like to be part of this growth , part of the next cohort of Inspiration USA , Going for Growth or In Cahoots , or perhaps just want a coffee , a chat and a look around the new building , Phil and the team would love to hear from you . enterprisemadesimple . co . uk
