Effective Date : 01 / 01 / 2017
If you wish to take time off due to the death of an immediate family member , notify your supervisor immediately .
If you are a regular full time or a regular part time Team Member , you may be eligible for the following amounts of paid bereavement leave :
• Ten ( 10 ) days for your spouse or child .
• Five ( 5 ) days for your parent , sibling , grandparent , or grandchild .
• Three ( 3 ) days for any other person you had a relationship with that is similar to any of the previously listed individuals ( i . e ., aunts , uncles , cousins , etc .).
You may , with your supervisor ’ s approval , use any available paid time off for additional time off as necessary , or to attend the funerals of individuals not listed above .
Bereavement leave will normally be granted unless there are unusual business needs or staffing requirements . Bereavement pay is calculated based on the base pay rate times the number of hours you would have otherwise worked on the day of the absence and will not include overtime or any special forms of compensation , such as incentives , commissions , bonuses , or shift differentials . If eligible , you will only be paid for hours for which you would normally have been scheduled .
