Story of Impact Káits Pitch Competition Winner AreeBus
In remote communities around Armenia and Artsakh , technology education is not accessible and extracurricular activities are lacking . At Teach For Armenia , we believe that these deficits prevent students from unlocking their potential . Often , the obstacle to filling these gaps is poor local infrastructure . As part of the Káits Social Innovation Incubator , one of our teams is putting education on wheels and bringing it directly to students ’ doorsteps with their pitch , AreeBus . The project has three main components :
1 . Academic Education : AreeBus is a mobile classroom that travels through communities in Armenia and Artsakh . It is equipped with technology , school supplies , and academic material to supplement and assist students with learning . AreeBus is also equipped to provide developmentally appropriate programming for pre-school-aged children . Many kindergartens are currently closed because of the pandemic .
2 . Informal Education : AreeBus is equipped to provide 21st-century technology skills and raise awareness around environmental issues .
3 . Psycho-Social Support : AreeBus provides psycho-social support to schoolchildren and their families .
Teach For Armenia awarded the AreeBus team 2,000,000 AMD to bring their proposal to life . Currently , they are in the process of running a crowdfunding campaign to raise even more money for the implementation of their idea . They aim to launch their first mobile classroom in the summer of 2021 .
