Halloween Fun (By Mya And Iona, P6)
On Tuesday 30 October, the Parent Council organised a Halloween Disco. The Nursery to
P3 pupils’ Disco was first followed by the P4 to P7 Disco. We played different games and
had snacks. We interviewed Orla in P1, Daniel P6 and Lotti in P4.
Lotti: “I liked when we had to bite the donuts off the string. I dressed up as scary dead doll
and I felt happy because I was dancing and having Halloween fun with my friends.”
Daniel: “I liked it because I was with my friends and you can design your own costume. I
took inspiration from my family who dressed me up in a morph suit!”
Orla told us: “I felt scared and excited. I enjoyed it because I was with my friends and I got
to dance. There were lots of scary costumes but I dressed up as a witch.”

Visit to ‘Archway’ by The Well-being Group (by P6 pupils)
‘Archway’ is held in the Community Parish Church Centre every Monday afternoon. It is
a meeting place for people who are socially isolated, suffer from illness, like Dementia,
and other health conditions. Carers come along too, for a break from their job. Afternoon
tea is served and is enjoyed by all.
The NHS is involved and organise a speaker once per month to discuss important health
and benefit issues. On other Mondays there are programmes of seated exercise classes
aimed at improving movement and balance. There are also art classes and singing, both
of which are important for improving peoples’ health and well-being.
At the end of October, Mrs McNaughton’s P4 group visited ‘Archway’ where they spent
time talking to the old people and charming them. As it was the exercise class that day,
the children joined in with the exercises. It was a fun afternoon finishing with the children
demonstrating the ‘Slosh’ to the old people, making them laugh.
This was generations sharing time together and proving how much fun they could have
together. It proved to be a very successful visit for ‘Archway’ and for the children who
went down.
